Clove Sevina is not one of them. She's hated Valentine's Day since the very instant she found out about it. So the year when some kids in her grade decided to put together a yearly Valentine's Day dance, she was not pleased. Clove has been best friends with Cato Hadley since preschool, and the two have undoubtable chemistry. Cato and Clove usually are each other's dates for the annual dance, but this year, things change. Cato has his eyes set out for one of the most popular girls at Panem High, Glimmer. Desperate to get her to be his date to the dance, Cato asks Clove for her help. Not only does she not know the first thing about playing Match Maker, Clove is also head over heels, crazy in love, with Cato. Being Cato's friend, she reluctantly agrees to aid him, pushing her feelings to the side. The two teens, along with help from some other friends, get themselves knee deep in drama, heartbreak, and all other kinds of crazy. Cato begins to change, and Clove doesn't like it. At all. Will Glimmer fall for Cato? Will Clove admit to her affections for Cato? ''Why, why won't you believe me, Cato? Do you actually think i'd do that?" Clove cried, falling to the floor. ''Doctors don't lie!" Cato spat. ''I didn't cheat on you, I swear!" Clove begged. ''I don't believe you!" Cato roared.. ''Cato, I had a misscarrige'' Clove rushed out. ''What? You lying! Your lying!" Cato shoke. ''Leukaemia, what's that?" Cato asked. ''What do you mean he's dead?" Clove hollered. ''I have MND" Astrel told Clove. She dropped her glass. ''Cato Rhiyadh's gone!!!!!" She screamed. 'TWINS?" Clove whispered. ''Thats six" ''If we keep going the way we're going, we'll be living on the side of the street'' ''I just want a normal life, I didn't sign up for this!" Clove told Clarice. ''I haven't slept in a month, I don't need to hear your problems!" Clove yelled at Izabelle. ''Mommy, are you and Daddy not it love any more?" Rhiyadh asked. ''No angel, why do you ask?" Clove stroked her hair. ''I heard ye fighting again'' Rhiyadh moaned. This is the story of the real star-crossed lovers; Cato and Clove ''What do you want to do?" Clove asked. ''I don't know, kiss you?'' Cato said. Clove nodded. His lips crashed onto hers. "I love you" Clove said. ''I love you more" Cato grinned. ''Impossible'' Clove laughed. ''No very possible'' Cato replied.

Cato is a brutal, ferocious killer. Clove is a sneaky, conniving killer. They both seem to hate each other but in reality, they secretly love each other. Once they both finally realise their love, their whole world turns upside down when they both decide to volunteer for the 74th Hunger Games. The last thing to do is to keep each other from death. Everyone knows Katniss and Peeta's story, but no one knows of the star crossed lovers from District 2. This is a clato fanfic from Clove's point of view. This tells the story of life before the games for the infamous tributes, and what went on during the games. Will the games drive them apart because as we all know one tribute comes out alive. I only own this fan fiction but all credit for The Hunger Games and it's characters go to Suzanne Collins.

Clove never knew her parents. All she knows is her trainer Favian who sometimes doubles as her dad, and sometimes falls far short of looking out for her. In district 2 they train you not to be heartless, but to ignore your heart. After years of solitude with Favian her only family Clove has mastered this skill almost as well as she's mastered knife throwing. When new training partners for the year are assigned the day after the 73rd reaping, a mistake is made. Clove ends up partnered in the wrong age category with next years best contender for the crown: Cato Hadley. Everyone is jealous but Clove has bigger problems to deal with than her annoying partner. She has a secret that she's kept hidden for years and only Cato can save her from herself.
