Dauntless has created an image for Eric after an incident during his initiation and no one knows the real him nor do they want to know the real him. When it is time for new initiates, he has to overlook their training as part of his leader training. When an Amity transfer gets a little too close to Eric, she wants to know who he really is, NOT the ruthless leader image he projects to be. Eric doesn't know how to react because no one has ever tried to get close to him before so how should he react? Will he react in a good or bad way? Aurelia was born in Amity and from her bright smile and kind personality everyone believes that Aurelia belongs there, but when the Dauntless and more importantly Eric visits Amity, sparks can't help but start to fly, and before you know it a dark secret is between them which could either break them or bring them together, it probably doesn't help that she is also divergent and joins Dauntless. This is set during tris's initiation, but no insurgent or allegient, completely different storyline
