A new girl comes into his world, it happens to be a coincidence she moves in across the street from his happy little home area. Well happy is a big word, considering things have been completely since his wife left behind both Aaron Hotchner and his son Jack when she was brutally murdered on a cold case, in which the killer, The reaper got away. Jack was only a baby when this happened, making things even more hard for Aaron. Aaron shows no emotion toward this stranger however, not wanting anything to do with her, but that becomes an issue when she ends up working at the BAU, meeting all of his friends and becoming friends with them. Another issue, he's falling for her. And she is for him.

He leans his head back and although she can't see him she can feel his breath on her neck. "I need you to promise me something," he whispers. "Anything," she says, her heart pounds in her throat. "I need you to promise that you won't fight them." He says and she wants to scream at him. She wants to hit him and make him understand that she doesn't want to walk out of this hell hole by herself but she can't tell him no. She nods and fights back tears," I promise." He seems to relax against her," thank you." She moves her head just enough that she can feel his temple against her own," can you promise me something?" "Maybe," he says coughing weakly. "I need you to promise that you're gonna fight. You can't just die, okay?" She says and she can feel her tears slipping out from under her blindfold. He moves, maybe it's the blood loss or maybe it's the fact that he can't stand to see her cry, towards her. As much as his aching body will allow, in the end his twist his body tell it hurts, and captures her lips. She taste like tears. "I promise," he whispers against her lips. Aaron and Emily have always had feelings for each other. But, have never admitted to each other. Hotch is in a relationship with Beth. And Emily in a relationship with someone else. One night they are both in Hotch's office and they get really drunk. They end up having a one night stand that leaves Emily pregnant. But, Hotch claims he is madly in love with Beth, but he's not. Will Hotch tell Emily the truth before she leaves for London, forever?

Emily Prentiss and Aaron Hotchner are best friends. They have been really close for a long time, always being there for each other. Their close friendship already scared away many potential partners for each of them, but they always chose their friendship over a relationship to someone else. But little do they know that not only amicable feelings exist between them. (Hotch is divorced from Haley, she is alive and Jack appers as well)

The Hotchner family is happy. At least it seemed. One Hotchner isn't happy and another soon won't be either.
