When Charlene Buckley wins an online contest to tour the factory of the reclusive Candy Man, the king of chocolate, she's sure it's a scam. However, the opportunity is all too real. Her terminally-ill grandfather makes a seemingly miraculous recovery to tour the factory with her, and she is hopeful that her family's bad fortune will soon change. Charlie feels left out among the privileged teenagers that won along with her, but they all seem nice enough. There's August Glas, the German boy recovering from childhood obesity, and V Salazar, the beautiful Brazilian heiress of a major nut corporation, as well as Viola Beauchêne, the gum-chomping track star, and Michaela Tivoli, the girl-next-door type who's only vice seems to be watching a little too much Netflix. When the factory gates open, the teens seem to step into paradise. The Candy Man defies all their expectations-she isn't even a man at all. But the enigmatic and good-natured Candy Man's erratic, irritable side reveals itself. The tension builds when the teenagers start to die in suspicious "accidents." And then the factory goes on lockdown. Stuck in a multicolored sugary hell, the teenagers' true demons will all be revealed.
