"Did you know Drama lowers I.Q? Intelligent people keep smaller social circles." I tell him, throwing another grape in the air and catching it in my mouth. "If that's true, then you and I should be geniuses." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Carrie Edwards is an enigma. Mysterious, beautiful, good taste in fashion and undeniably shy. She's the ultimate introvert, but she cannot be classified as a good girl. Then again, she's not exactly a rebel. Her favorite color is purple and in 8th grade, she threw up on the blind kid in the middle of a presentation on Dolphins. That's about all anybody knows about her. Hidden beneath a blanket of PTSD and social anxiety is the quirky, insensible, headstrong and sarcastic girl who lives life with an internal monologue of comebacks she doesn't actually say. Alec Kendrick, smoldering hot, very typical stereotyped bad boy. No, he's not rich with absent parents, nor is he poor and struggling to provide for his family. He has two brothers and a baby sister, who he gets a smite bit overprotective over. Alec likes his motorbikes, leather jackets and the occasional back talk to the teachers, plus picking a couple of fights and some drinking. Admittedly, so he's not a total angel either. These two very different people would probably have not even crossed paths if it wasn't for a mixed up folder, a weekend lost in the woods, a stolen copy of an embarrassing tape, crazy siblings, dancing best friends and of course, some sparks. Who knows what happens next?! ~-~ Mancheston Series, Book Two. CAN BE READ SEPARATELY Not edited, working on it. Some spelling and grammar errors. P.S I DO NOT own the cover picture. I just think it's pretty so props to whoever took it :) Cover Made by @SprinkleJellyDonuts

"Quick, kiss me." I choked on my baguette as I looked up at my boss, his intense grey eyes burning into me as my jaw fell open with a mouthful of chocolate baguette. "What?" I snapped, was it just me or did my boss suddenly lose his mind? One minute he was talking about rescheduling the meeting booked at two and then he said kiss me, maybe he said something else, maybe it was miss, bliss, piss? But all the thoughts in my head were swiped away as he stood up from his chair, his tall frame hovering over me before he grabbed my arm so roughly the baguette I was holding fell out of my grip and he pulled me upwards, and the man I have worked for three years and never touched suddenly was pressed against my chest as his lips met mine. And the piece of baguette in my mouth only made me choke further. * * * Gabriel Parish needed the wealth that came when his grandfather passed away, but there was a catch, he had to be married, or have a wife of some sort for at least two years, and the 29 year old bachelor had no intention of ever getting a wife, they were too complicated. ** Wattpad Featured Story!** A young girl arouses the wrath of an ancient Scottish water spirit who takes her brother's soul in revenge. To save him Brigid must journey through the Shadow realm, begging help and proving herself to each of the totem animal spirits of Britain. Steeped in British mythology and animal lore, The Shadowkeeper is a modern fairy tale written with animation in mind but could also be live action/CGI - lots of CGI! Author's Note: Back in 2005, The Shadowkeeper came heartbreakingly close to being sold to major production companies thanks to good showing in the three screenwriting competitions I submitted to*. A whirlwind trip to Hollywood for an awards night followed by meetings with managers and production companies had my little heart singing (literally one night, at an Etta James concert at the Hollywood Bowl!) Then reality hit. All of the feedback I received was the same: We love it but there's no audience for adventure stories with a female protagonist, change Brigid to a boy and we'll negotiate. Call me stubborn (the two managers offering me representation did) but I didn't think that was a legitimate "note", I thought it was simple sexism and I refused. Since then, The Shadowkeeper has been in the proverbial drawer but I love Brigid, I think she's a badass little eight year old and I've never given up on her. It's now ten years later and the attitude to female protagonists appears to be changing so I'm thinking of submitting The Shadowkeeper again but first I thought I'd pop it up here and see what Wattpadders think. If you like it, I do hope you'll vote and/or comment to let me know whether you'd like to see it on the screen! Happy reading! Darcy. *Competition Results: Finalist, ScriptP.I.M.P. Can a natural killer learn to be human again? Regan's unique talent for murder makes her a perfect assassin. After a lethal encounter leaves her broken body washed up on a beach, she finds herself adopted by a group of teenage bodyguards. She doesn't intend to stay for long, but soon Regan finds herself faced with a choice: become a hero or stay a villain? *** The boy played with the flat brim of the cap in his hands and looked around the room. He sat back in his chair, trying to look casual, but the heel of his hi-top sneaker drummed rapidly on the concrete floor. Regan sat opposite him with her legs crossed and her hands folded on her tartan skirt. She watched him without a word and brushed a strand of blue-dyed hair behind her ear. Somehow this seemed to unsettle him more. 'Calm down,' she said. 'It's just murder.' *** Author's Note: Darkness Girl: Trickster God is represented by Louise Fury from The Bent Agency. P.S. The epic cover was made by Paul Kopetko (you can stalk him at paulkopetko.com). Enjoy!
