Ever summer the Bakugo family used to travel all the way from Japan to vacation in the Pacific Islands. Every time they visited they would spend a lot of time at the Polynesian Cultural Center since one of Masaru Bakugo's old friends worked there. However, that was a long time ago and this tradition stopped when their son, Katsuki, was about ten. Eight years later Bakugo Katsuki has just graduated from high school and is ready to go into college. But his father isn't too sure. Bakugo is a hard-worker and a determined young man but has nothing he's truly passionate about. So Masaru agrees to send Bakugo to any college he wants, on one condition. He has to work the whole summer at the Polynesian Cultural Center where he'll meet friends from his past. Most distinctively, Kirishima Eijiro. At the age of four, Katsuki was cast aside by his parents and forced into the foster system because he was cursed with an unfortunate Quirk-Explosion-which happens to have negative connotations to it due to a villain in the past. His parents aren't the only ones who rejected him because of it, though; he's grown up without friends, with teachers and peers looking at him in fear no matter how hard they tried to hide it, and while he'd like to say he enjoyed being so lonely, that wasn't the case. Fortunately (though he might say otherwise if you asked, at least at first), one set of bright red eyes somehow managed to see past his Quirk and his rather abrasive attitude and can relate to him on a level he never expected. Years in the future, however, things aren't all sunshine and rainbows-in fact, they're far from it. Katsuki knows this, and no longer can he allow himself to drag the only person he's ever truly cared about through the mud with him.

Kirishima's a simple art student who's had his eye on the attractive blonde who frequents the same Starbucks he studies at for a while, though he's too chicken to do anything about his little crush until he accidentally runs into him. Boarding school is bullshit. High School is bullshit, and Bakugou Katsuki wants nothing to do with it. Doesn't give a shit about grades or homework or any of that crap, and is more than tired of the damn principal breathing down his neck every second of the day. And to add a cherry on top of a the shit sundae that is high school, he gets reassigned rooms and ends up with a way-too-fucking enthusiastic Hair-for-Brains idiot who's probably got the biggest, dumbest smile he's ever seen. Of-fucking-course. ~ Kirishima's always been happy to meet people and make new friends. Needless to say, he's ecstatic when he's informed that he's <i>finally</i> getting assigned a roommate after a month of living alone in a dorm room. He's more than happy to welcome his new roommate with a smile and help him out with anything he needs.
