This story will be placed in the 1960's in a time period known as The Freedom Summer where racial tensions were high as the heat radiating from the sun that summer. It is told by Yolanda Mae Townsend, Yulie, an African American girl who world is about to turn upsidedown due to the new found secrets hidden within her family and the events leading up to the climax of the Freedom Summer.
