The world is black and white until you touch your soulmate; then color explodes before your eyes {written from a prompt} Newt has yet to find his soulmate. He acts like he doesn't care to the public but he truly longs to see the beautiful colors that Minho tells him about. Even more he longs for someone to love and someone to love him. Thomas is alone but unsearching. He doesn't mind the calm black and white of the world. It would be nice to have someone like his best friend Teresa but the world works in mysterious ways.

Newt is a reserved small boy who's rich British accent draws attention away from his noticeable limp. Thomas is a confident star athlete on the track team who also excels academically. The private campus of Southern New York Glade University is a place for fresh starts and big dreams. Now of course I guess nothing really turns out quite how it is in the movies... Exposed to the real world of heartbreak, secrets, agonizing classes and awkward encounters they both realize that the most important thing that anyone can have is someone to lean on, sometimes in Newt's case, literally.

Newt lives and feeds off attention provided when the lights hit him every night, glitter adorning his naked skin, whilst everything else is utter darkness. His intentions are bad, but they're based on survival, and his ability to manipulate situations with his incredible wit and intelligence, makes him dangerous. Thomas' intentions are unknown, but he's able to manipulate just as well, with an intelligence just as sharp. Except this proves dangerous, as he may be playing a game that he can't win, being nothing more than a pawn for the very young entertainer he's falling for. This story is fiction made up by me, any resemblance to real life events are unintentional. Newt, Thomas, Minho and Teresa are not my own characters. They belong to James Dashner. Calum Hood doesn't belong to me either. I wish. This story is based on a song by Zayn Malik, though the idea itself is entirely my own.

For seventeen year old Newt, the number ten is everything. Ten steps. Ten times you must snap your fingers. Ten nods of your head. Ten. When he's put in a mental institution for his extreme OCD, depression and anxiety, he meets some unlikely friends. And possibly the boy he's been looking for his whole life. But can he trust him?
