Ruby McNamara. That was her name. She talked to him at least everyday. She didn't say much, but it was enough. She even let him pet her dog Skipper a few times, even though he never asked. He knew not to. She was nice. She saw beauty in everyone, even Peter. She always made an effort to talk to him, even though most people besides the rest of the Marauders didn't. It made him happy. He liked that she only cared about the inside, because she didn't see the outside. She couldn't, and she was okay with that. They had offered to get her "fixed." But Ruby didn't need fixing. She didn't need to be fixed, as this wasn't a flaw. Being blind wasn't a flaw at all, because she didn't want to see the outside, she didn't need to see the outside. She wanted to see who her real frineds were, and who was nice and who wasn't. Everyday she talked to Peter. Every. Single. Day. Because Peter was beautiful. She didn't know what he looked like on the outside, she didn't want to know who he looked like on the outside. The only thing she knew was that he was beautiful. Peter didn't think he was beautiful. He was more on the thicker side. He wasn't as attractive as the rest of the Marauders. He wasn't as clever as the rest of the Marauders, and sometimes he didn't even feel like an actual Marauder. But Ruby changed that. Ruby was the source of his courage and bravery, and she didn't know how much it helped not only him, but other people too. Because of Ruby, his whole fate might be changed. Because of Ruby, Peter might not make the mistake that would ruin his and other lives too. All because of a blind girl named Ruby.

sirius black, self proclaimed rebel with messy hair, went to university wanted to make masterpieces. to paint, to make art, to create beautiful things. his parents, however, went against this, sending phone calls and letters that were far from shy of getting the point across, leading sirius to stray away from his goals. remus lupin, renowned for drinking black coffee and sarcastic comments, went to university for the same exact reasons. his parents allowed him to follow his, letting him keep his hands covered in paint and possibly dabbling in the stick n poke tattoo talent on himself. and after remus finds out about a portrait that he has to paint for his portfolio, he has to find someone aside from his friend peter (who won't sit still for anything), and he happens to find a certain young man willing to sit still for his final grade (as long as his friend james can get his number across to remus' friend, lily.)
