The girl's journey was quite decent in a way, romance and drama come in her way. Though in spite of all, she was able to focus into her quest. Oddly enough, Leaf was spontaneously receiving voices or visions in her head with no prior knowledge of what or who was sending these impulses. "Become a legend to rescue who's fallen." 2nd Place Winner in One-Shot 2015 Pokemon Watty Awards Joey was young, too young for what came to pass. He was barely six when his mother was diagnosed with a malignant tumor in her brain. To simplify that, she was diagnosed with brain cancer. Her last gift to him would be something he treasured for life. This is Joey's story on how he met his top percentage Rattata and how their friendship was born from tragedy.

I'm a 16 year old girl, by the name of Umber. And yes, I realize that its a boy name! But anyways, I've been assigned a mission, which is a lot harder than it seems. I travel to Johto, in order to track down a certain red-headed boy, who my boss instructed me to find. Seems easy enough, right? Not quite; considering he can't find out I'm from Team Rocket, and I've got an annoying, gold-eyed trainer following me around. And I've got a cuddly, loving Dratini who is anything but helpful. It's horrible to don a mask. Most wear some kind of mask in their life--and for the most part, they're never of the best quality. All they cause is useless self-destruction and pain, but the good thing about them is that they can hide some ugly part of you that you don't want to show to the world. They're always a step down from what you think they'd be, always a notch lower than expectations, and always a lie to hide from the reality around us. ...of course, there are those that can see through those masks too, and it's supposed that Arceus created these humans to keep the world's sanity. That's all Avis wishes for, because it's nearly impossible to find any semblance of peace in this midst of war and chaos. To him, that's staying alone; staying out of others' business, and for the first seventeen years of his life, he's done that pretty well. § Avis can only hide in the shadow of his twin brother's strength, stranded in a country ravaged by war and destruction--and he tries to live his life in the darkness peacefully. He doesn't need to be noticed by everyone. The illusion of a functional, ideal life, however, is shattered when his family's balance is destroyed, and he thus dons his first mask. § For all his life, Avis had been taught that disaster was bad. For the most part, he's believed that much--he only needs to think of ungraceful piles of debris and blood-caked grounds to be convinced of that. At eighteen, he finds himself starting to doubt it--just a little. Monsters lurk in the corners of our minds. They prowl and snarl at any sense of happiness, ushering in a darkness with each step they take. These creatures take on many different forms to slowly tear us apart. Some tether us to our beds, refusing to let us walk under the beautiful sun. What I did to you is unforgivable, and I don't deserve your forgiveness. I don't deserve to see your smile ever again. My biggest regret is that I will never get to properly say good-bye to you.
