Life and death go hand in hand. Bakugou Katsuki would tell you that everything in the middle is a shit show, and the only thing that made it worth it was him, was Kirishima Eijirou. But even that ended in tragedy. -- Title comes from 'listen before i go' by Billie Eilish. I have no excuses for this, honestly. I felt like writing something sad. Whoops? Also, it's long. Enjoy. Also, no quirks.

At the age of four, Katsuki was cast aside by his parents and forced into the foster system because he was cursed with an unfortunate Quirk-Explosion-which happens to have negative connotations to it due to a villain in the past. His parents aren't the only ones who rejected him because of it, though; he's grown up without friends, with teachers and peers looking at him in fear no matter how hard they tried to hide it, and while he'd like to say he enjoyed being so lonely, that wasn't the case. Fortunately (though he might say otherwise if you asked, at least at first), one set of bright red eyes somehow managed to see past his Quirk and his rather abrasive attitude and can relate to him on a level he never expected. Years in the future, however, things aren't all sunshine and rainbows-in fact, they're far from it. Katsuki knows this, and no longer can he allow himself to drag the only person he's ever truly cared about through the mud with him.

The world is separated into two species. One of them is known as the Vampires; a notorious species that harbor their never-ending thirst for human blood. Having special abilities the humans don't, the vampires naturally rule over the humans. Their leader is a powerful family that has commanded both the vampire and human societies for generations. They go by the family name Bakugou. The other half of the world is the humans. The ordinary homo sapiens who are powerless and have no other option but subdue to the vampires. They surround themselves with crosses and garlic but little do they know that it has little effect on the vampires themselves. Throughout the human and vampire history, humans are supposed to select a family to send out a "sacrifice" every decade to the Bakugou family. Ever since 200 years ago, the same family has been chosen every year for their unnatural sweet blood. They go by the family name Kirishima. What happens when the only son left of the Kirishima family crosses paths with the youngest heir to the Bakugou family? Little do they understand the events that will follow.

Todoroki Shoto was scared of lots of things, most of which he would never admit to. But never did he ever think he'd be scared of flowers! Especially not the roses and Azaleas he would cough up every time he seen Midoriya...

Due to Mina's mistake Kirishima is forced to relive some memories he's hoped to forget. But the darkest times can lead to the strongest bonds. And the strongest friendship will be become so much more. But the nightmares are just the beginning... Lots of fluff, a bit of angst and a pinch of low key smut.
