Henry Bennett has a big ego. He wants things his way, does just enough to get by, doesn't overexert himself with anything he deems trivial, and struggles the most with letting people in.
Aubrey Davis is an uptight, newly graduated valedictorian and, dare I say, an overachiever. She doesn't believe in fun. She barely believes in friendship. She believes in hard work and giving it her all, even if she fails in the long run.
When these polar opposites meet, it's an automatic battlefield. Aubrey can sift out disingenuous, lazy people. Henry hates it when his pride gets attacked. Though they never see eye to eye, they do have one thing in common: They are both too smug to let the war end.
Will spending time together help bring a cease-fire and, hopefully, let them see they're not so different? Or will their disdain for one another crack Aubrey's perfect facade and force Henry to deal with emotions he repressed all these years?
