Knuckles suddenly turned, looking Gadget dead in the eye. "Yeah, you still haven't told us, who is the father?" Gadget felt incredibly uncomfortable, the whole room fell silent and all eyes were on him. The stress was too much to bear any longer, "Okay, I'll tell you, something commander." Gadget's eyes misted and he got into Knuckles' face."Do you know what happens to a Hermaphrodite when they're impregnated by the one they're fighting a war against? I'll tell you! They end up falling in love with them! That's how I'm pregnant! That's why I love him! Despite everything he's done, I'm in love with Infinite!" Gadget yelled at the top of his lungs at everyone around him, with tears in his eyes. Knuckles took a step back in horror, "INFINITE IS THE FATHER!?" The wolf in front of him hung his head in shame, as tears fell down his cheeks. "You let him take advantage of you!? How could you!? You're supposed to be a part of The Resistance! But now look at you! You betrayed us!" The red commander snapped at him disapprovingly. "I DID'NT LET HIM DO ANYTHING! IT'S NOT MY FAULT!" Gadget screamed at his commanding officer and ran into the rainstorm outside, clutching his stomach and letting the raindrops disguise his tears of shame. "Gadget! GADGET! Come back!" Carder yelled after his friend, but Gadget didn't stop or slow down. Falling in a puddle of mud and losing his glasses in the filthy liquid, the once-proud red wolf lay broken-hearted, his brilliant fur stained with globs of brown, filling the night with sobs and howls of sorrow. The pain of his heartache was suddenly dulled by pain from his stomach, "Oh no! Not now!" The pain came back a moment later, this time stronger, "SOMEONE HELP! PLEASE! THE BABY'S COMING!"
