Hachiman's curiosity was overwhelmingly stronger than his will and he decided to check what the box contained. That was when he was let into a dangerously life-threatening situation. Minutes after experiencing what it feels like to have a gun pointed at your head, he is miraculously saved by multiple anonymous people who seemed to be 'experienced' at their jobs.
