It was 2005; Weapons Company was forced to move out of their traditional roles inside of 1st Battalion, 5th Marines and create five platoons that were armored and armed to the teeth to fight the insurgency of Iraq. What proceeded was seven months of highly kinetic combat operations with death and destruction at every turn. Hundreds of combat patrols, many of them resulting in firefights would continue for months inside the Triangle of Death. What returned was a group of men who were weary from battle and looking for any outlet to numb their memories and move on with life. This is their story.

During the summer of 1866, German anthropologist and archeologist Hermann Schrödinger and his fifteen students led an expedition deep into the Siberian tundra. It later came to be known as the Inchutsk Incident and was widely publicized by the Western media during the Cold War. The purpose of the expedition was to find the ancient City of Glass, purported by the myths of the indigenous people. The records of Schrödinger's diary proved that they had made a discovery of utmost importance, however, it wasn't what they had hoped for.

A race of human beings with horrific ancestry, an Empire's conquest of a faraway island, a man's search for divinity. Here lies Gehenna, here lie the damned. ***This novel contains mentions of violence, murder, rape & suicide -- Reader Discretion Advised*** Author's Note: Growing up with shows like Supernatural and Black Butler, reading novels like Demian: The Story of Emil Sinclair's Youth, and most importantly reading the Bible the full way through, I've gotten extremely fascinated by the esoteric aspects of Christian mythology and Biblical lore. This story is inspired heavily by such Christian motifs and symbolism, specifically the Nephilim and the Book of Enoch. The setting of the story, rather than being the modern world, is instead the Age of Discovery. The reason being that, this era - the early 16th century, was a tumultous period when Christianity was spread via the early colonial Empires, and much of it involved horrific tales of the Inquisition and subjugation of conquered peoples. What better a place, then, for a novel inspired by Christian mythology than such a period? ----------------------------------------------------------- Highest Tag Rankings: 1st in #thought-provoking --- November 22nd, 2022 2nd in #cosmichorror --- September 30th, 2022 3rd in #lovecraftian --- September 8th, 2022 3rd in #biblical --- January 19th, 2023

Messenger of Sorrows is a collection of Flash and Micro-Fiction I've been writing. It features a series of connected tales featuring "The Messenger", a mysterious being who comes to people in their dreams, informing them of an upcoming loss of someone close to them. After the initial encounters with this entity, Derek, the protagonist and narrator for the first four tales, becomes obsessed with finding out more. What he learns, and what he plans to do fuel the rest of the stories.

Edward is a somewhat odd fellow that seems to see and experience things most cannot start to understand. He had no outlet for the ghastly things and thoughts he experiences in his daily life until his dear friend Elizabeth nudged him towards keeping a journal with the recounting of his experiences. Reluctantly, he agreed. These are excerpts from Edward's diary. *** This work could best be describe as a compendium of weird little (horror) stories in the format of a journal kept by the main protagonist as he stumbles from one horrid situation into the next. I'm open for feedback on my writing and the stories themselves, so shoot and enjoy (hopefully)! ***
