Sold to a facility at six years old to be raised as an assassin, Sweden-born Ruth Rogers was trained by whatever means necessary to become a lethal weapon. As she grew older, Ruth struggled with the reality that her memory had never been wiped like others around her but completed missions to obey the woman who commanded her. Ruth perfected her craft and quickly became known as the sly assassin Buzzkill. After suffering heavy losses, the facility was discovered and raided by SHIELD authorities. Before they could catch her, Ruth escaped SHIELD's reach and tried to live on her own for the first time in the eighteen years she's been alive. Feeling guilt for what she has done, Ruth agrees to aggressive experimentation to clear her record which ultimately results in devastating effects on her body and mind. Ruth struggles to survive as she continues to clear her conscience, becoming allies with the Winter Soldier in the process. After the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D., Bucky Barnes disappeared. Lost in a sea of voices, Bucky searches for the man he was until the day a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent steps up beside him and introduces herself. This is the story of a woman known only as Scythe, a "gifted" agent who is similar to Bucky in more ways than one. On a favor from Steve Rogers, Scythe goes to find Bucky, but instead of an assassin she meets a man haunted by lost memories and wonders if she and him are all that different. When a HYDRA cell begins targeting them, Scythe convinces Bucky that they should work together, but a lack of trust could lead to a violent end. Two people with blood on their hands will learn that the past can only define you if you allow it to. -- Bucky x OC - PG13 for some violence. -- This Fanfic will not be completed. Sorry!

*Complete* A Marvel Cinematic Universe FanFiction While the Winter Soldier was a ghost story, Nadine Ryker is a ghost. She's The Ghost. Her past is a mystery, her identity even more so. Few knew her as Nadya Ivanovna Rykova, the lost recruit of the Red Room, never spoken of after her disappearance. But she got along just fine, hiding away with her secret life, re-emerging only to take contracts that few others are willing to take. To hunt other Assassins. But when she's contracted to take out Black Widow? Her long ago 'little sister'? Her life and her secrets all begin to unravel. *** Past Bucky/OC, eventual Steve/OC and Pietro/OC This story is effectively split into two parts, with Part I focusing on themes of the price of secrets, family, self-acceptance and finding somewhere to belong, with the Steve/OC romantic sub-plot beginning in earnest in Part II. Part I starts just before Avengers: Age of Ultron and Part II starts shortly after AoU ends and will go through to just beyond Captain America Civil War. Warning!!
