"A part of me has always wanted to be punished, to experience pain at its highest degree, and to be ripped apart in every way possible for surviving the crash. But I was stupid for not knowing the extent of that wish; for not knowing that pain isn't always sharp and fleeting, bloody and easily relived. Except, It's well-orchestrated and cunning, unexpected and permanently disabling. It's mental and emotional turmoil, Love in its darkest, ugliest of forms.... and for someone who you never thought capable of inflicting it, it is the sweetest form of revenge. They say love makes you do crazy things, but trauma--trauma is one hell of a bitch." --A.J. *********** Brown Sugar X Euphoria. Twenty-one-year-old Alaina Joseph is undeniably lost after surviving a fatal car crash that leaves her fatherless. With two of the most important men in her life fighting for her attention, her survivors' guilt eating away at her, and the surmounting pressure of being a college junior...what will happen once she finds out her past is very much present, and out to get her? *********** An honest, raw, poetic tale of Descension.

Nina felt a pair of eyes watching her. Warm, gilded brown, like the whiskey in her glass. That was how she met Roman Conway for the first time. Three years later, she meets him again, and she is pulled back into a past that cracks the surface of the seemingly perfect life she curated. ***** As Nina Jordan admires New York City from a rooftop, she seems content. She is surrounded by her closest friends, and Cameron - the man she is marrying. But when Nina goes to get a drink at the bar, she bumps into Roman Conway. To Roman, Nina looks different. Her signature curls have been pulled straight, and cut into a blunt bob, and there is a dark melancholy about her. The biggest change he is struck by is that she no longer looks at him the way she used to. [[word count: 100,000-150,000 words]] Cover designed by April Alforque

Brielle Jackson and Levi Miller have been friends since they were six and were playing pee wee baseball together. Levi is a 6'0, athletic, blonde, fair-skinned, light brown eyed baseball player while Brielle is 5'4 and everything he is except she plays fastpitch softball now, has dark brown eyes and is African American. Their friendship never saw color as a boundary because the status was only that of best friends. As they grew older their friendship just grew stronger and feelings for each other morphed into something more. Coming out of the senior year, Levi tells Brielle some thing that changes the makeup of their friendship. Not only will their twelve year friendship be tested by outside forces but they both learn about the hard realities of the world around them. In the end, Brielle will have a decision to make, one that could destroy any chance she may have with the boy who's always had her heart. Can she use the strength, courage and perserverance she's learned from the place she's lived her entire life or will it break the strong young woman she became? Or will the outside forces using race as a divider become a boundary that destroys this friendship and growing love?
