"Sometimes, we fall in love with our nightmares, as they are dressed in daydreams." |WritingBee| Some people get on your nerves and, sometimes, it doesn't really matter. However, when they tend to bump into you everywhere you go, it does. Even more so when they get a makeover. Ace Anders; the girls' boy, and Alice Owen; the prude nerd, do not get along much. In fact, they do not get along at all. Ever since Ace laid eyes on Alice, he hated her. The hate only grew when he dated Alice's best friend, Lilian. With so much bullying, and hate, Alice Owen left her old school. For two years, Ace enjoyed the absence of his nightmare, Alice. He almost forgot about the girl he bullied in tenth grade. Almost. Alice Owen decided to go back to her nightmare of a school, only with her makeover. She will be dammed if she did not get her revenge from everyone, specially Ace Anders. ~ This was for the Wattpad six-word-romance-book contest. I am developing it into a book. Sam is the most promising swordsman among this year’s crop of Paladin trainees...and knows it. Brash, cocky, and unbeatable with a sword (well, almost), Sam is the kingdom of Thule’s best hope against the violence wrought by demons. The only problem is that Sam is really Lady Samantha, daughter of the seventeenth Duke of Haywood, and if her father has his way, she’ll be marrying a Paladin, not becoming one. But Sam has never held much interest in playing damsel-in-distress, and so she rescues herself from a lifetime of boredom and matrimonial drudgery. Pity that Tristan Lyons, the Paladin assigned to train her, is none other than the hero of her childhood. He hasn’t recognized her as Lady Samantha--yet-- but if he does, he’ll take away her sword and send her packing. Sam is not the only trainee hiding secrets: Braeden is a half-demon with a dark past that might be unforgivable. Sam, Braeden and Tristan set out for the western coast, charged with rooting out an infestation of demons that has made the West unlivable. As they travel, they uncover a deep-seated corruption of power that threatens to derail everything they stand for. Rebellion stirs, led by a rival faction of warriors who tempt Sam to join them with an irresistible offer. A war between men is coming, and Sam must pick a side. Will saving the kingdom cost her life -- or just her heart? Reminiscent of Mulan, but with a medieval fantasy twist, Paladin is a tale of adventure, action, and romance.

"I didn't ask to be in the middle of your ego-battle," I grumble. Blake pins me to my locker, hands resting on either side of my head. "Well, you got it in anyway, Darling," he whispers. His face is inches away from mine and damn me for licking my lips. I am NOT falling for these guys. And then, at the corner of my eye I spot Owen and his gang approaching. Well, that's just great. *** The West and East gang of Tygerwell have been at each other's throats since the dawn of time. And the two leaders of these gangs want to end the fight, once and for all. But fighting with fists is easy. Fighting with wit and charm, is a whole other ball game. Blake. West-side gang leader. Leather jacket and killer glare. Don't talk back. Owen. East-side gang leader. Fancy coat and toxic stare. Don't resist. And in comes Amber. Hair of gold and oceans in her eyes. Has too much sass for her own good and always, ALWAYS, manages to get into the middle of trouble. But these boys have no idea who they're really dealing with. And when Amber descovers she knows a little too much when it comes to guns and fighting, she has to question everything she thought she knew about herself. Three can play this game. *** "Let's settle this. You got rejected, I got rejected. It's only fair that the fate of the gangs be on who gets the girl first." "That sounds rather good, Rhodes. I'll take that bet on the golden girl." *** COMPLETED FICTION AWARDS: Best new story and best new account Highest ranking in Teen Fiction: #1 on 25/06/2018

"Get a hold of yourselves everyone! Let's start the bidding!" the lady emcee said flashing her white teeth. "Let's start with $5!" The crowd roared to laughter. How dare her! I am not that cheap! Even though I can't play the piano or any instruments! When the laughter eased down, a guy in a black tuxedo and green tie raised his number. I can't help but think of naughty things when I saw his number. Number 69. His hair was blonde and even though from afar I can see his emerald eyes and he has broad shoulders. There is definitely a well-toned body behind that expensive suit, there's no doubt about that. His legs were crossed and his arm was leaning on the back of the chair while the other was raising the number, "I'm going to buy her for a million dollars." he said very casually. Everyone gasped, wide-eyed, shocked including me. Then suddenly it hit me. think I know this guy but I can't put my finger on it. I think I've seen him before. "Going once? Going twice?" He was the only one speaking and there was silence and I can hear crickets. It's so awkward in here. "If that's the case she is sold to me.." a paused. "Prince Kleighton Morris of England." I gulped. I just got sold. Someone bought me. Not just someone. Now I know who he is that's why he looks so familiar. A royalty bought me. The Prince Bought Me. I gazed at him and he was smirking at me.
