"You're atheist," I remind him. "You don't believe in god." "I believe in you," He murmurs, letting the cigarette hang from his lips. "I believe in whatever you believe." He says, letting the confession roll off his tongue as if it were that simple. As if god, the devil, heaven, hell-as if none of it really had meaning to him. "That's not how it works," I mutter as we walk down a few more alleyways-the city of Manhattan coated in a light blanket of snow. Henry Vitiello had never had anything to pray for, that is, until he met me-the only thing that had ever opened his mind up to the possibility of religion "Isn't it?" He argues, taking the cigarette by his middle and pointer finger before blowing the smoke out. "I'II dip my hands in holy water if it means I could touch you." "You'd probably burn." 𓆩♡𓆪 𝐇𝐄𝐍𝐑𝐘 𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐎, the reaper. He's a prick. An asshole. A pretentious son of a bitch. He's not perfect. He's not even decent. But he's hers. Aubrey doesn't fit society's description of a desirable woman- at least she doesn't think so- and she accepts that truth for what it is. She loves playing video games and weighs more than what is considered the status quo. While working she meets Ethan, and while they didn't meet on great terms he sees something he wants....her. She can't believe a man like him wants her but soon things get steamy. Every woman is beautiful. Join Aubrey on the long journey as she finds self-confidence through somewhat taboo means. Giving up control isn't always a bad thing. **Thanks to Fairybad for the new introduction** I have unpublished the prologue as I am not sure it is necessary, opinions welcome in messages or comments.

glass jaw: 1. Noun. Where a fighter is easily knocked out via a blow to the chin or jaw owing to a vulnerability in their strength and training. 2. Metaphorically, a fighter's weakness. ~~~ Ryan Chamberlain is the embodiment of vulnerability. She's kind-hearted and maybe a little too keen to trust people. Plus, she barely has any real-world experience, but that was never her choice. For the last eight years, Ryan has been pushed into the corner. There was only ever room for one star to shine and that star was not her. With college on the horizon, Ryan finally sees the opportunity to step out of the shadows and live life on her own terms. Will it be that simple though? To Landon Atwood, showing weakness is not an option. In the octagon, and in life, people will always take advantage of your vulnerability. The only people he lets close are his childhood friends-and that's only because they refuse to leave him alone. What will happen when those same friends adopt a stray in the form of an unwelcome freshman?

The Wattys 2014 "Undiscovered Gem" Stella Henry is afraid of a lot of things. As a child, her simple, comfortable home life did not prepare her for the sort of people whom she would meet as a younger teenager. Now eighteen and a freshman at Clemson University, Stella meets Charlie, who, like her, has long been keeping others at bay. Though his disposition is kind and gentle, Charlie is a boxer, and his world only reminds Stella of elements of her past she would like to forget. When both realize that they have a safe place in one another, they start to overcome their fear of other people, and of letting them get close enough to matter. In many ways, this is a story about allowing people to matter to our lives, and about meaning something to them, in turn. At some point in your day, in your routine, in your life, you will matter to someone. That is a special kind of power, do be careful with it. "We love people not so much for the good they've done us, as for the good we've done them." Leo Tolstoy, War and Peace
