Blake Carstairs isn't too thrilled to inherit the title of Duke of Devonshire from a distant uncle. Still, he returns to England from India to claim his title. However, a few months after he gets there, he receives a letter from his uncle's solicitors stating that he must marry in 30 days in order to keep the title. If not, it will be taken away from the family and Parliament may give it to whomever they please. Emma Sheridan, an heiress, is in dire need of money. Her family has just lost everything because of her father's gambling debts, and he will be sent to debtor's prison if the debts aren't paid off in the next 30 days. Her inheritance money would pay it off, but she cannot touch her inheritance until her 23rd birthday unless she marries before then.

Within all this seeming calamity was Marlborough Mills and it's master; Mr. John Thornton. He was never one to engage in speculations, but this venture affected him none the less. Then there was Margaret Hale. She was from the south and never cared for his harsh northern ways, or so he thought; but she would always be the only women he would ever love. Now Marlborough Mills was struggling and thru a series of events Mr. Thornton found that his new land lord was none other than Margaret Hale of London. Could John and Margaret find their way back to each other and set matters right or were they always destined to be apart... This story is based on the novel by Elizabeth Gaskell, North and South, and the adaptation by the same name.

Lily Spacey from 2011 finds herself in world of North and South is she going to screw up the story or is she going to save it. This was written a while ago well some of it was anyway I got bored of watching it on my computer took the plunge and posted it.

John Thornton and Margaret Hale are happily in love and going to get married. But an accident leaves John with partial memory loss and what he has forgotten is his life and love for his bride to be. Margaret's whole world seems to come crashing down around her. This modern story is based upon and inspired by E. Gaskell's classic novel North & South.
