ON HIATUS Manuel (17), wurde in die Psychiatrie geschickt weil er etwas schreckliches erlebt hat. Was genau, darüber will er nicht reden. Genau genommen redet er gar nicht. Die Ärzte sind verzweifelt. Sie wissen nichts über Manuel und können ihm dementsprechend nicht helfen. Sie schicken also, als letzte Verzweiflungstat, einen neuen, jungen Psychiater zu Manuel, in der Hoffnung, dass der Junge sich öffnet. ~ Patrick ist ein Psychologe, gerade aus der Ausbildung raus. Und schon bekommt er einen Patienten. Er soll einen Jungen zum Sprechen bringen. Klingt einfach, doch das ist bisher niemandem gelungen. Doch Patrick muss es versuchen, denn ihm fehlt das Geld, und die Achtung seiner Kollegen. Und irgendwann geht es um viel mehr als um läppische 5000€ im Monat. Dann geht es um Gefühle, die nicht da sein sollten, um äußere Umstände, die alles verkomplizieren, und um Geschichten, die einen Menschen für immer kennzeichnen. 30 Jahre ist es her. Vor 30 Jahren war Henry zusammen mit Joey Drew in ein Project eingewickelt, welches sich rund um Cartoonfiguren beschäftigte. Doch mit der Zeit schwand die Vorstellung, dass dieser Workshop überhaupt noch existierte und somit baute Henry sich ein neues Leben in einer anderen Stadt auf. Bis ihn eines Tages ein Brief erreicht, welcher den Absender von Joey trägt. Er schreibt davon, wie sehr er sich freuen würde, wenn Henry ihn mal wieder besuchen könnte.
