If Tyler Scott knows something in life is that you only give proper worth to something when you finally lose it. Or as Passenger sings, he only needed the light when it was burning low. He only missed the sun when it started to snow. He only knew he had been high when he was feeling low. He only hated the road when he was missing home. Some things stay as they are, but others? They fall apart. And once upon a time, Stephanie Olsen and Tyler Scott were the best of friends. Once inseparable, now drifting apart. The more they grew separate, the more Stephanie's feelings for him increased and she wished she could tell him. But couldn't. As she watched his cheery life unfold before her. When she overhears the news about Tyler loosing his phone, she decides to confess her unheard feelings through texting his old lost phone, knowing he will never read those texts that lasted for a little less than one year. 301 messages for 301 days. Imagine the second you're born, a consultant removes you from your mother's grasp and runs a battery of genetic and physiological tests on you. Thirty minutes later they give you a score out of one hundred which denotes your level of perfection. If your score is above eighty and you work hard to maintain that score you will have a charmed life; well fed, well-rewarded, spoiled. But fall below eighty and you're labelled Flawed, and life will not be so kind. Hannah is adopted by a Flawed family when her birth parents choose their social standing over their daughter and endures a life of struggle, hunger and service. One day Hannah is escorted to the regional government office and told that the Consultant who delivered her, who labelled her Flawed got it wrong! Now, she is being relocated back to her birth parents, to live as one of the Ninety-Five- all medically and legally judged as perfect. Entering this new life Hannah has an impossible decision to make which puts not only hers, but the lives of everyone she cares about at great risk. Heroes. Ever since they showed up, people have gone soft. They're adored, worshipped. Devotion is showered upon them like rain. It's about time someone knocks them off that pedestal they stand on, someone to crush their pillars of faith. Someone like me. A villain. It's perfect. When Olivia Parker is found dead at a high school party gone wrong, it seems obvious who her killer was. Wesley Owens was found next to her covered in blood. Obviously, he did it. The question was why. With the entire senior class attending the end of the year bash, it shouldn't have been that simple to get away with the crime. There had to be witnesses and alibis, especially in the tight-knit friend group found at the scene. Now, with the eyes of everyone on them, the group has to pick up their broken pieces and figure out what actually happened that night before one of them gets falsely accused. With each step closer to the truth, the friends start to get more and more hesitant to reveal the truth and start to realize no one seems to be innocent. (Featured on Wattpad Picks twice!)
