Maria Pines is an angel while her husband Mark Pines is a Demon. All Angels have different sizes of wings and different color wings. It's not going to be those typical snow white wings with a halos. It's going to be different colors like grey, brown, blue all those colors except white and pitch black wings. It's very rare to get snow white wings and pitch black wings, no one knows why, but that's how it is. Maria and Mark were expecting a set of twins.
