What if Richard Grayson never got adopted by Bruce and instead was taken in by Slade Wilson(Deathstroke) but Dick had no idea his guardian was a villain, but in Dicks mind, he looked at everyone as a villain. Slade was very abusive to Dick, making him an obedient "dog." What happens when Batman and the young justice take down Slade for illegal smuggling and he gets away, but they find a bruised and muzzled child in a cage in the process? Will they save him? Will Dick ever find love or will he stay the broken child he is? How will the team act having this child a part of their team? How will Batman act? Will they help the broken child or try to avoid him? Dick just needs to be free of the torment his past gave him, and the only way to do that, is by healing. But how can he heal if Deathstroke is always on his mind, torturing his soul? Instead, he was taken in by Deathstroke, the renowned mercenary. He was abused constantly as well as trained in order to become the perfect apprentice; or as better known, Renegade. What happens when Batman discovers a kid committing murders in Gotham? Surely, Batman wouldn't even let a kid break the law. Justice must be delivered and he must be taken to prison.... But then again... This kid is Dick Grayson :)

Bruce Wayne couldn't come to the circus performance that fateful night. Instead, Deathstroke finds a young Dick Grayson running from the scene, who he takes in as his apprentice, training him to be a mercenary as he himself is. He cares for him as he would a son, but when a contract comes up, Deathstroke is forced to put his protégé through more than he ever had before to fulfill the contract, possibly putting more emotional strain on the boy's mind than he was prepared to handle.
