Claire is alone. She is surrounded by the living dead, she calls them Biters. She learns that Biters must be killed with flames, swords and such do no damage. After the tragedy of the apocolypse occurs she buries her sorrows deep down. Losing everyone in her life makes it difficult to trust anyone she encounters. After meeting two mysterious boys, a little brother, and a whole new group, she realizes it's okay to be mourning the loss of her loved ones... amongst other lessons.
