Everyone calls me Pain and I am about to attempt an escape from the Reostus region in hopes of seeing a blue sky with my own eyes, open water in the wilderness, grass and trees. Unfortunately, the people I work for own the entire city and made it illegal to leave, saying it is for "our safety". I will have to make choices and sacrifices in order to achieve my goal, the question is, how much will I be left with? Will family and friends support my decision, or will I be betrayed? I wish I knew, but only the future will tell. Impossible to turn back once the plan is in motion, there is only 2 possible results: death or freedom.

Brian Walker, the IT guy at a small government contractor, has two problems. First, he hasn't had his morning coffee, and second, a strange voice in his head claims an alien invasion is underway. Solving the least pressing of the two should be pretty simple, but that leaves the coffee issue to deal with! Still, what if that voice is telling the truth? Brian's lunch buddy, Dale, thinks so-but then, he also thinks the government has been putting mind control drugs in the water supply. After deciding to trust the voice in his head, all he needs is a first-rate team to face off against the aliens. He ends up with a Princess Bride fanatic (with eyes for him), a conspiracy theorist, and a cosplayer. Follow Brian and his ill-equipped band of office workers, as they try to save the world from well-meaning aliens that have finally lost patience waiting for the human race to kill itself off.

What would you do to disappear? What would you give up in order to start over? Popularity, your adoring best friend, the hottest guy in school? That is exactly what Lolita gives up when she goes missing. Why would the girl who seems to have everything give it all up? Disappear, just like that. Lolita and Amy are best friends who write a popular teen blog together. One day Amy's life is turned upside down when her whirlwind of a best friend goes missing. Join Amy on her hunt for Lolita and discover her secrets on the way. 'I was dead. Or as far as everyone knew I was. Everything worked like clockwork; just as I planned; people are predictable, aren't they?' - Lolita, That Girl. Author's note below- Thank you for taking a chance on 'Girls Astray'. It's a story close to my heart as it deals with mental health, which is a subject that I think people need to have more conversations about. This is a first draft so it's a flawed and a little incomplete here and there. (Much like myself it's a work in progress). If you enjoy it (which I hope you will) please comment and vote. Also I love feedback, feedback is my friend. ? Cover by the talented @annie-Joyce This story came third place in The Teen Fiction awards ❤️
