Jane Thomas is such a mom, at least according to her co-worker Buck. She's too nice. She's always optimistic and cheerful. That's a hard way to be in a job where you face people on possibly the worst days of their life. Jane Thomas is a Los Angeles Firefighter and she loves her job. But Jane Thomas is alone. She has always been alone and she is certain that she will always be alone. When she joins the 118 after a trauma at her old firehouse, she is surprised to find a place where her crew members become her family and where she feels safe for possibly the first time in her life. But her new life is overturned after one night under a full moon and at the arrival of a familiar probie firefighter who's very presence disarms years of rational thinking and emotional distance from those who try to get too close. Life keeps raging on and it's up to Jane to fight not only her demons, but those of everyone in Los Angeles. Warning: This story contains instances of violence, blood, and death. It deals with issues of rape, miscarriage, suicide, depression, anxiety and trauma along with a slew of other things. Reader discretion is advised. Disclaimer: This is a work of Fanfiction. I do not own any of the plots, dialogues, settings, and characters of 911 outside of Jane Thomas and her story line. All plots, dialogues, settings, and characters apart of the 911 franchise are owned by Fox Network, its writers, and other creators. This is the only account that this story is legally posted on. Evan "Buck" Buckley moves to LA, determined to make a new life for himself. He takes a job as a firefighter and keeps a low profile, but he is soon won over by the warmth and caring of the close-knit fire family, especially that of widower Eddie Diaz. With the help of Eddie and his kid, Buck learns to love and trust again -- but when a mysterious stranger arrives and starts asking questions, Buck's dark past threatens to reclaim him. Note: While this is based off Nicolas Sparks' Safe Haven, I just want to make clear that this is based off the movie, not the book.

They weren't bad people, just bad parents. God, he hated when Maddie said that, he hated even more hearing it parroted back through Chimney's mouth, and he especially hated the revelation of what had been dubbed the "deep dark Buckley family secret." But then again, how much could he really be upset with Maddie for holding onto a family secret, especially when he was still holding onto his own.

Buck wanted to go home. He wanted nothing more than to be back with his family and to go home. Things had been rough this last year though, first his leg got crushed, he had a pulmonary embolism, he was told he couldn't come back to work, and then there was a tsunami. Even with now being allowed back at work after making the mistake of filing a lawsuit, things were still a bit strained. His family and home still felt like they were an arm's length out of reach. Then, things get even worse somehow when he and the rest of the team get sent to see Dr. Wells after a particularly rough call.
