Hadley Jamison doesn't know what to think when she hears that her classmate, Archer Morales, committed suicide. She didn't exactly know him, but that doesn't stop her from feeling like there was something she could have done to help him. So to Hadley's surprise, on the very night of Archer's funeral, she has a run in with Death himself and is offered the chance to go back in time to stop Archer from ending his life. The catch? She only has twenty-seven days to do it. And if Hadley doesn't succeed? Well, she doesn't want to think about that.

From the author of Poor Things, a Wattpad featured story and #1 ranking novel in horror, comes a dark tale of love and vengeance . . . and spiders. When Mike Roberts kicks over a homeless woman's cup of change, she whispers a cryptic warning: "Mind the cracks . . ." Now the Boston he knows and loves is unraveling around him. But his life is not the only thing at stake. His mother, a once acclaimed writer lost in the late stages of Alzheimer's, depends on him to have a home. And then there's Cassie, beautiful, incomparable Cassie, who might want something more from Mike than the friendship they've long shared. As his city balances on a razor's edge, Mike will have to hunt down the daughter of the woman he wronged and uncover their terrible family secret . . . or be plunged into a world of crawling horrors and unspeakable hunger. A world from which no one has ever returned. --- Praise for Daniel Barnett's work: "Barnett's writing is pure poetry, and [Poor Things] is his goriest, grittiest yet . . . beautiful and touching, a poignant coming of age story." - YA Books Central "Totally unique and a refreshing twist on an end of the world type scenario."- Kindle Customer "Read this book in two days. Interesting story line and nonstop action. I couldn't find a good spot to put it down - I had to find out what happened next. Rivaled any Koontz story." - Kindle Customer ". . . rings with some echoes to Stephen King's It, but unlike some works ring with such echoes of great works, this story doesn't get drowned out by the comparison." - Kindle Customer "Hooked from page one, the story just keeps getting better and better right up to the end. Real horror, real young love and a great story overall." -Nook Customer " . . . hooked right from the beginning . . . would read everything from this author." - Kobo Customer

So, I'm kinda clumsy. I tripped when I walked across the stage to receive my high school diploma, knocked down a ladder that was supporting my dad, and sneezed into a wall. Yup, you read that right. I sneezed myself into a wall. So maybe I am a walking train-wreck trapped in a lanky twenty-two-year-old girl's body. At least my family loves me-tolerates me might be a better way of phrasing it-but even with my clumsiness I'm still able to get by with minimal craziness and just a whole lot of embarrassment. A whole lot. That is until the fateful September day I find myself chasing a chicken into a wedding cake. My sister's wedding cake. . . on her wedding day. . . in the middle of the reception. . . in front of two hundred other guests. I've got a new number one on my list of embarrassing moments, but this time I swear it wasn't my fault. I blame that chicken, my grandma, and the stupid bowtie she put on it, probably hoping to marry me off, so she can have the best man all to herself. Okay, fine, so maybe it was totally my fault, but. . . This is how it happened ©2018 ℓαℓαℓαℓαwriting

★ NOW PUBLISHED! ★ What do you get when you add the ultimate meet cute + a bruised head? = A whole can of heartbreak. It all starts in aisle three. Lacie O'Connor prefers to see the world in black and white, logical, rational, and natural, like her biology major. She just wants to survive her freshman year of college, but first she must find a can of peas. Instead, she gets hit on the head with a box of cake mix. Trent Montgomery is all saturated and technicolor even in the maroon employee polo. Lacie thought she left him and his sheepish smiling friend at the grocery store but finds him in her most dreaded class: Intro to Philosophy. He sits next to her, and it's all PLATOnic until he presses his foot up against hers. That's all it takes for her to get lost in the philosophy of Trent. What starts out as sidewalk conversations soon leads to study sessions that transform to cuddle sessions that transform to make-out sessions. But just before winter break, Trent steps back. He dodges her texts. He kisses her in private but blows her off in public. Lacie knows miscommunication and mixed signals spread like an invasive plant species, but what she can't figure out is which version of Trent is real. The one she met in aisle three, or the one who likes to get drunk in dorm building basements. © 2015 ℓαℓαℓαℓαwriting © 2019 ℓαℓαℓαℓαwriting |Edited/NEW| © 2022 Published version All Rights Reserved |Third Place Winner in #Readytoreadya2018 Young Adult Reads Contest|
