I looked up horrified to meet his cold blue eyes as they peered down at me, the corners of his mouth curled slightly, revealing some of his beautifully white teeth. "I beg your forgiveness, My prince. I did not mean to offend you by accepting your brother's invitation to dance." I swallowed hard, trying to fight the lump of fear that had started to build in my throat, "I did not think I was allowed to decline." Prince Thomas let out a little chuckle, "Oh, I am not mad at you, Emma." I shivered when my name left his lips, "You have just piqued my interest, that is all." "I don't have enough money or power right now, but I will definitely find a way to bring them all to their knees! I'll make them all beg!" She hissed, shaking with anger and frustration. "I will do everything, anything... to make them all regret... even if I have to sell my soul to the devil!" She said with determination flashing in her beautiful eyes. The man smirked. He lifted his fingers and tucked some errant strands of her slightly mussed up hair behind her ear. "Be careful what you wish for, Miss. A certain devil here might really fulfil your wish and claim your soul in exchange." "If that devil is really here, do introduce him to me, handsome. I would like to make a deal with him." Eva drawled out, smirking back at him.

The speculation of 1851. It was hailed as a sure prospect, every cotton mill owner who invested was sure to succeed, but what it it failed? The city of Milton was soon to find out as some of the most prominent mills closed their doors leaving hundreds out of work. Within all this seeming calamity was Marlborough Mills and it's master; Mr. John Thornton. He was never one to engage in speculations, but this venture affected him none the less. Then there was Margaret Hale. She was from the south and never cared for his harsh northern ways, or so he thought; but she would always be the only women he would ever love. Now Marlborough Mills was struggling and thru a series of events Mr. Thornton found that his new land lord was none other than Margaret Hale of London. Could John and Margaret find their way back to each other and set matters right or were they always destined to be apart... This story is based on the novel by Elizabeth Gaskell, North and South, and the adaptation by the same name.

What if a work of fiction wasn't fiction at all? What if we only thought it was fiction because it was written down, and we were separated from it by the page? Isabel Darrow, troubled by her past and feeling disconnected from the world, likes her doctor's suggestion that the world of fiction might become reality. She likes the idea of waking up in the middle of her favourite book with the handsome, brooding Mr Thornton glaring at people in his mill yard, but she doesn't worry about the foul air of dirty, smoky Milton, because it's not real, and it was written over 160 years ago. But then she takes a trip to Oxford, and gets waylaid along the way, finding herself greeted at a smoky train station, by a man called Mr Hale, who claims to be her godfather. When Isabel meets Margaret and first sees Mr Thornton, she's determined to help the course of love run a little more smoothly for the two stubborn lovers. But Gaskell hadn't accounted for a second young lady in the Crampton house, and whilst Isabel tries to adapt to a life where women have no independence or equality, Milton must adapt to her. The question is, will Mr Thornton adapt to her, or Margaret, first?
