The fear of the unknown, the fear of things that are more powerful than oneself, is what drove the hybrids out of society and drove some species to near extinction. It drove a rift between humans and every other humanoid species, and it even caused an entire kingdom to uproot itself for fear of being destroyed from all sides, because nowhere was safe. Hybrids and magic users were ESPECIALLY feared (and therefore hated) thanks to their abilities. If any were so much as SUSPECTED of being one of the two then they were usually killed on sight. Ender was a hybrid that had had enough of humans being the ones oppressing those different than them. Most of the time hybrids would just lay down and take it, too, because either they had given up hope or they didn't want to further drive the stereotypes home. Ender was tired of this treatment, he was tired of having to hide himself, hide who (and what) he truly was just to preserve his life. So he began a rebellion of sorts. He gathered a ragtag group of hybrids and magic users (some old friends and many new ones) and together, they all pitched in on creating their own society, their own kingdom. Somewhere they could call home... However, humans were set on their ways, and there was someone who was pulling strings to try and make it so this kingdom would never make it.
