The story is told through the eyes of Damien Fontaine, who, one night simply goes on a date with his beloved Alexandria. When their beverages arrive, she drinks, then collapses. Terrified, he embraces her once warm corpse. He then leans in to kiss her; but whatever poison was left on her dry lips gets on Damien's. A mysterious, deadly poison. Damien is confronted with Death. And once he refuses his fate and tries to escape, Death refuses to show mercy to Damien.
