Often times in life, many of us get screwed over, by life itself, unfortunately. Constant drama between two boys who cannot help but love each other. A relationship filled with so many ups and downs, add in a few loopety loops and you could call it a rollercoaster. (An emotional one.) Harry and Draco, side by side, friends from the start. Or so they wished. A lonely little blonde boy who was only ever seeking attention and approval from someone who could love him. A small brunette, locked away from the world and shunned by his family for being a freak. Many things have a hand in bringing them together, but can love keep them from tearing themselves apart when the world throws the force of the ocean at them? (PSA: This fic was first started 4 years ago, so some of it is pretty cringey. Pease don't hate me :p)

Harry Potter the boy who lived, survived the war against Voldemort and all his trials afterwards, he didn't let his experiences change him and he remained the same cheerful boy who loved magic. However, he broke when he discovered his families betrayal. Ginny his wife had been feeding him love potions, his best friends Ron and Hermione had been stealing his money. All his friends that survived were all traitors, he had been played for a fool his whole life. In his depression Harry walked through the veil, hoping to be reunited with the few people which truly loved him like Sirius. However, death greeted harry in a way he never expected, with a second chance, Harry decided that this time he would go where he would find his true friends and perhaps cause a bit of chaos along the way. Harry falls hard and fast for the small, petite blonde, it's a fierce attraction, but there is an even fiercer war waging inside him. The choice to stay loyal to his cause, or to protect a small, blonde Gryffindor from death's gaze. In truth, it seems not like a difficult decision, given where his heart lies, but what of his mother and father? They only ever wanted him to see reason, what was best for him. Draco struggles everyday to live his life. No one knows how to handle depression properly, but having dealt with it nearly all his life, there can only be so much reprieve before it settles on his shoulders again, his burden to bear. He fights to prove himself not weak, to not be stuck under such a label. He doesn't want to be perceived as fragile to everyone. Doing so only seems to cause a rift between him and the one person he depends on, the one person he really does love; Harry. Draco and Harry need each other more than ever, but why can't they see that?

Hogwarts students all go back to school for their eight year. People are gone forever, never coming back, and the school has been repaired, as best it can be. Harry comes back distant and loathing -as expected considering the circumstances- not knowing what to do, where to go or what purpose he serves now that Voldemort is dead. Wondering though the halls like a ghost, lost and traumatised, not even sure if he wants to keep going. After all, what purpose does he serve now? Voldemort is dead, Harry killed him, which is what his life has been leading up to since the day he earned his lightening scar, so what now? With Harry's mind getting foggier and foggier with guilt and grief, and with the added nightmares he gets every night that bring it all back, not knowing where he's going in life, it's hardly surprising Harry doesn't know whether or not he's even going to make it through the year at all. Draco comes back to school, on probation from the ministry, determined to make something of his life. With his knew found freedom, Draco becomes more determined than ever to lead the life he's always wanted, far away from the punishing judgement and strict way of life his father had made him live. He wants to set things straight, mend the broken ties he had left behind and prove his ability to think for himself, show how different a person he truly was to the one he had pretended to be for so long. But Draco is still broken inside from the years of cruel punishment and threats he endured daily, traumatised by the things he had witnessed and been forced to do. He barely eats, hardly ever sleeps, but isn't ready to give up on the life he's always wanted for himself and can now have. Hopefully. Will Harry be able to will himself to live through the year? Will Draco let the trauma of the past dictate his future? Harry decides to prank Draco after a game of Quidditch. Desiring for Draco to go mad, he waits for him in an empty classroom. However, as soon as he realizes Draco wants to vent his anger in different way, he appears to be rather withdrawn and insecure - despite the fact he highly likes it. Does this mean Draco has more guts than Harry, after all? They decide to create a distance between them. After not seeing each other for months, they meet by utter chance. They are tensed, confused, and ready for a fall now school starts again. How will they manage, now shadows are trailing behind them? Draco, obnoxious and knocked with daddy issues. Harry, now insecure and put on edge - knowing he's the chosen one. EDIT: The first few chapters were written when I was around the age of 13. My English has developed over time.
