When a quirk first develops, the life a person lives becomes drastically different. Some kids are told that they were born to be villains, while other kids have grown up hearing that they'll be excellent heroes. For Kontorōru Kula, though, her life was changed in a different, more drastic way. Used for her quirk and ignored by heroes, Kula has to survive everything that life throws at her and pave her own path to freedom.

After an event in her early adolescence that changed the entire trajectory of her life, and in how she viewed her quirk, Hitomi Kanetsukabe was ecstatic to find she'd been admitted to UA's hero course. Her high school life was just beginning, and she'd soon discover she'd be getting more than she bargained for. New friendships, villain encounters, and much, much more. Charlotte Spindel, known as Lottie by her friends...or...she would be...if she had any friends, had moved to Japan with her family halfway through the year in her first year of middle school. She had a hard time making friends as she struggled to learn the language. The other kids found her odd and more than a little bit creepy. Sometimes they saw her speaking seemingly to herself in her foreign language. One girl saw her pick up a spider and let it crawl around on her hand, since that day everyone wrote her off and wanted nothing to do with her. She went through her entire middle school life without a single friend. Harper Rye can, to put it simply, read minds. It's not something she consciously does. Her quirk simply allows her to pick up people's thoughts, regardless of whether she wants to or not. The fact that she can't turn it off makes having such a power nearly unbearable. To make matters worse, she's somehow managed to fall under the radar of the super-genius principal of UA high, Nezu. He's sure there's a traitor amongst them, and is convinced Harper is the key to finding them and shutting them down. Plunged into a world she never wanted to be in, Harper finds herself on the fast track to becoming a hero, maybe managing to make some friends for once in her life, and quite possibly saving Japan from near-certain destruction.

Everyone knows the myth of King Midas- the man being able to turn whatever he touches into gold. What if there was a person who's quirk was very similar to that said myth? What if this person had run away from home because all the people she knew just wanted to befriend her for her quirk? What if this person started to get chased down by villians who knew that any human that was turned completely into gold would die? What if this person was forced to fight on the villain's side in the infamous USJ break in?
