It's tough, being best friends with the person you love. Especially if the feeling is... mutual? Wait, what? Truly, neither Mason Byrd nor Cody O'Neill wanted to be just friends. It's just that Cody was fast in the swimming pool but not so much when it came to realising feelings, and Mason was terrified of losing their friendship. Enter Mason's brother asking one stupid question during a college drinking game, and that fear might well become reality. With Mason making terrible panicked decisions to continue hiding his love, and Cody repressing his newfound 'unrequited' crush to focus on his swimming career, one thing's certain: getting where they both wanted to be won't be easy.

"L-listen... I know, I-" he started, his voice sounding heavy and muffled from the tears that were starting to form. "I'm upset, too. W-we can forget-" I stopped his words by shoving him against the wall and kissing the heck out of his lips. I couldn't stop, I didn't care about it being disgusting -- because it didn't feel that way, it didn't feel wrong, and no one was there to tell me it was. (LGBT themes).
