When the Versalis siblings, Gene and Rose, have to take charge of the kingdom their parents left behind after their sudden and violent death, the world seems to have no point in it anymore. That is until they begin to have problems with strange creatures, and Avaris's population increases when new people come to live in the castle. Now that the people of Avaris are fearing for their safety, the siblings realize they need as much help as they can get. This decision leads both of the siblings to attempt to start new relationships with the people of the castle once again after the long periods of time of isolating themselves. These new relationship may either help or worsen their sorrow along with the mysteries, secrets and ugly truths that awaits them and the people they grow close to.
