A dragonhunter with a dangerous secret. Frode has dragon magic... and if anyone finds out he will be executed. A dragon with no home. After a horrific accident, Sage is blinded and left for dead. A war with no end. Dragons and humans have been at war for decades, and with a traitor in the dragon's midst, it is up to Avrae to save them all... at a terrible price. ------------------------------------------- Sneak peek: "The Cletin is only accepting thirty new candidates this term, and only twelve will become full fledged members. I'm sure you're smart enough to know what that means," Grywell grumbled. Avrae took in a deep breath. "I know." "You may have to reveal yourself sooner than you'd like." "I have no intention of doing that. But you should know that by now." "When do you intend on telling Flare? Or the queen for that matter? What you are doing can be considered treason if you're not careful." "I know. You are my teacher after all." "I am no longer your teacher, for I cannot teach you anything that you don't already know or can learn from the Cletin themselves." Avrae stomped her hind foot, frowning. There was no way that she would reveal her deepest, most terrifying secret she kept to any other living soul. Only Grywell knew her secret, and she intended to keep it that way for the time being. No matter how much she refused to accept the truth, she knew Grywell was right. Sooner or later, her secret would be revealed to the entire colony. The question was though, how would the other dragons react to it? ------------------------------------------- Book one of the Darkened Secrets trilogy. "How did you find this place?" Zia asked the King, speaking for the first time since entering the tent. "I've been searching for the location of your Headquarters for months- years, really." Donathan admitted. "We only found it when we got wind that two new recruits would be coming here today. My men tailed them here this morning and sent for me as soon as they were certain of the location." The tent was silent. Finally Arch said thoughtfully, "You say you come to negotiate?" The King nodded. "Very well, then," Arch said, "I will oblige. If I do answer your plea, can I insure that this camp and all those who live in it will remain protected and untouched?" Donathan nodded thoughtfully. "Yes, I believe you can." "And," he went on, "can I trust that this place will remain secret to the outside world?" "My men are sworn into secrecy," the King assured him. Arch fell silent once again. This quiet seemed to last longer than all the others. Zia wanted to know what he would say, and His Highness and Jay appeared to be in the same boat. "Very well, then," Arch said, stretching forth his hand for the King to shake. "When shall we sort out the details?" Cover made by the incredibly talented @italychick

''You know how they came up with the word Lunatic?'' he asked. I shook my head, feeling like I probably didn't want to know the answer. His lips pulled up on one side in a mischievous, lopsided grin. He stepped closer. ''Because all of the worst monsters come out during a full moon.'' ------ Lou DeVue has known from a young age that she was different and not in the 'I-think-I-was-left-on-my-parents-doorstep-by-a-wizard' kind of way. She can see things. Dark things, usually. The darkest, of which, happens to be about her new neighbors. The five boys hold an energy that Lou's gift can't ignore. An abyss surrounds them and Lou finds herself gazing into it, but what happens when the abyss gazes back? **********************
