Forty years have gone by since the beginning of the Fourth Age. The time of peace is falling away as Orcs are attacking villages in Eryn Lasgalen and Gondor, killing aimlessly. Legolas receives a strange letter from Aragorn asking him to meet in Imladris. But something happens on the road and Legolas and his captain, Thaladir, discover something disturbing about the new enemy. Something that could take them, Aragorn, and others as far as the Mines of Moria. While she keeps the feel that Tolkien gave us in the books as well as stays true to the ending that he originally wrote, she adds her own twist and voice with the addition of her four female hobbits: Daffodil, Ivy, Nettle, and Thorn. Each girl is so different from the next, complete with their own lovable quirks and characteristics that makes the reader adore them instantly for who they are as individuals as well as a whole. The unity that she presents between the characters is so unbreakable and true that I literally feel like I'm melting with adoration as I'm reading.The writing is fantastic and the story-line enjoyable. Every time I see that she's updated, I squeal and smile and read it immediately because I cannot wait to see what she has to give her readers next. I find myself sucked into it, and when it's over, I'm dying for more, more, more! It is a brilliant, adorable, enchanting story that I would recommend for any Tolkienite/Ringer.
