Life in Dauntless without the war. Its hard to explain without spoilers, but this has many different things from other fanfics. Percy may act tough and strong on the outside, but on the inside, he was broken. His step-father is abusive, and no one really knew, until Annabeth gets stuck in between. Piper and Jason are the ones to call the cops, and get Percy away from the scene, but who knows what actually happened to Percy that day. Even Annabeth seems oblivious, and she was actually there. Annabeth and her friends have discovered the new kid. He sits by himself, is always late to class, and never has his homework done. A real slacker. But Annabeth thinks there may be more to him than meets the eye. When her mom decides to send her to a special private camp for her education, Annabeth might get a lot more than just learning history and math. Percy hates public school. He misses his friends, and the kids and Goode are jerks. Finally, his mom agrees to let him return to Camp Hero. Little does he know that the group of kids who tormented him from Goode are the newest recruits.

As middle schoolers, Percy and Annabeth were best friends. With a great connection, only a few fights, Percy and Annabeth were inseparable. But soon everything changes and Annabeth's father gets a job away from Manhattan, New York. Suddenly Annabeth is away from all her friends and especially, Percy. She spends one year in Pennsylvania. Things couldn't be harder for her. She was bullied, had minimal friends, and she missed home more than ever. Annabeth kept contact with Percy through a laptop her parents get her. After those that terrible year, she moves back to Manhattan, New York. She and Percy reunite, and things just get better and better.
