{Book 1 in the Journey of Faith series} ❝Being gay is okay, and I think God thinks so, too. Won't you join me?❞ Of all the hot button topics in Christianity today, homosexuality is arguably the hottest. Just Googling "gay and christian" can return upwards of 300 million results. But what does the Bible really say? How can someone be both Christian and an ally or a member of the LGBTQ+ community? As a Christian, this is my view on the issue. I am not a Bible scholar, but I hope to shed light on why I do not believe that it is an oxymoron to be a queer Christian. ❝For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.❞ - John 3:16 Highest rank in: NON-FICTION {#12} #christian {#5} #christianity {#6} #bible {#8} #jesus {#8} Peaceful debates are encouraged, but hate speech and overt hostility will be deleted. {Book 2 in the Journey of Faith series} Meet the author behind "Christian and an Ally" in her second nonfiction work about sexuality, God, and more. Why am I doubting the religion that I grew up with and believed for most of my life? What are my thoughts on heaven, hell, original sin, and other complicated theological concepts? Why do I believe in evolution and cosmology? Why do I support the LGBTQ+ community? Step on in, my friends... As a doubting Christian, these are my opinions. I am not a Bible scholar, nor do I claim to be representative of the greater Christian community. I realize that my views are not held by the majority of Christians, and where discrepancies arise, I will do my best to address them. "Great power comes with great..." I raised my eyebrows at Guardian, looking his skin-tight suit up and down. "Urges to wear spandex, apparently." "Are you using altered famous superhero comic book references to insult me?" he asked incredulously. I snorted. "You bet your fucking ass, I am." *** Crown City has all the typical big-city flare. There's a McDonald's on every corner, enough carbon emissions to end life as we know it, and a new supervillain trying to take over right before finals week. For Tessa Kingston, Supers are nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, Tessa likes to pretend that Supers don't even exist at all. Though Tessa isn't exactly shy with her not-so-popular thoughts on Crown City's resident vigilante, Guardian, he seems to have taken a liking to the annoyed teenager. Well, he and his buddies have, that is - buddies meaning two supervillains dressed in Walmart Star Wars masks. Crown City has always been a center for mayhem and superpowers, but when strange things start happening too often to be coincidences, Tessa finds herself in the middle of a fight she didn't start but she sure as hell was going to end. Villains torment her. Heroes try to save her. Tessa just wants to pass Supers 101. In a world full of Supers, it's up to normal-teenager Tessa Kingston to save her city. A typical tagline she's well-aware of, of course. As Tessa prepares to show these Super-fools they messed with the wrong girl, she just has one condition: There's no way she's wearing spandex. *** BOOK #1 OF THE "SUPERHEROES SUCK" DUOLOGY Featured on the Wattpad Adventure, Action, Superhero, and Humour profiles! WARNING: Contains mild swearing, cliffhangers, plot twists, and enough sarcasm to last a lifetime.
