Nisa Roscoe has lived the first 19 years of her life in Tanisha, a world power that took over a majority of Europe decades before her birth. The monarchy is run by faceless rulers who create oppressive laws which citizens must follow. Only few people have realized the destruction caused by Tanisha because the country paints over their wicked actions with false love for their citizens. Nisa's past ancestors we some of the stray few who tried to rebel against the governemt, only for them to be separated and some banished to Egypt. And now, Nisa's 14 year old brother, Myles, has committed treason in order to exploit Tanisha. This only leads to Nisa's family getting arrested, leaving her all alone, fighting for her family's freedom. Seeking help from her distant relatives, Nisa sneaks aboard the colossal passenger ship Fortitude, and sails away to Egypt.
