She was seventeen and living life in her idea of hell. Her brother, her pack and the kids at school have abused her since my parents died. It was obvious her brother needed someone to blame for their death and the pack wanted something to keep them occupied. They all chose the weakest link... Katerina Bathas. And knowing there was no way out, it was easier if she played along in their little games, waiting patiently for anything to be different. Her eighteenth birthday was days away and if she was lucky, she'd meet her mate. Someone who would treat her with respect and love her as who she was. Sadly, she's never been the kind you could call lucky. Katerina does find her mate and the moment he realizes who she is, he rejects her. She couldn't take anything more after that, her patience was too thin from yet another betrayal. She found herself doing what any sane person would do, what she should have done when all of it started... she runs. Two and a half years pass, not long before she finds herself in the small town she grew up. Her past and her future joining together as one. There was one thing Katerina could hold onto, the person she has built herself to me. And she knew her old pack would be faced with someone far more confident, daring and beautiful. Someone who was ready, if they wanted to try and play any more games.

My eyes were literally glowing, there was no mistaking it. It was not a reflection of light, or any of the other excuses I had used or others had assumed. They were glowing a light sapphire blue color. It was not a bright glow, but it was definitely a glow. Glowing eyes were not normal. Okay, at this point I had to admit it, I was no longer normal. "You actually thought you could get away from me, didn't you, Rishka?" I turned around, shaking. Sadist was standing there, a creepy smile on his face. No, this wasn't real, I was safe. He chuckled coldly. "You really think you have a soul-mate? Be realistic, no one wants you. A broken wolf, soiled by another one. Who would love such a thing? You're still unable to change to your wolf form. Are you even allowed to be call a werewolf? Come back here and maybe I'll be lenient." No, I have a soul-mate. He loves me. He told me. I believe him. "Don't be stupid. If he exists, where is he? You're all alone here. Nobody is coming to save you." **************** When she was growing up, Lyra only had one dream: to see the stars. Now that she is older, she traded it for another one: to die. Even if she was rescued, was she really saved? Scars don't fade easily but her soulmate will make sure she can heal, even if it means not being by her side. Clichés I have broken: √ Main character is special √ Main character's soulmate is the King √ Main character was abused √ Happy ending (Tell me if I forgot something and, damn, I did not expect to be so cliché D: ) Clichés I have NOT broken: √ Main character is rejected by her soulmate √ Main character rejects her soulmate √ Main character gets pregnant √ Main character's soulmate is the "bad boy" or "cruel" type √ "Mine"/ "Mate" he growled. So if you want to read a story without these, you're in the right place! **************** Thanks to Distinctive for the amazing cover! I love it so much (It's my iPod's background) <3 Don't let the number of chapters scare you, they are only about 1000 words each. This is my first story so comments will be much appreciated. Love you all :) Also, if you ever have trouble with the weird names I gave my characters, there is a video of me saying their names in chapter 26. My accent is weird on it, blame that on the fact that I'm French-Canadian :P

This princess has never been sated with her position, and has done everything in her power to climb the political ladder to reach the power and prestige she craves, the position of General over the kings army. On the eve of a marriage arranged to help her climb, a mysterious foreign ruler intrudes the castle walls, a masked leader known only as "The Sovereign." King Hal of Rowland takes this invasion to be a declaration of war, but instead the Sovereign is there to make him an offer he can't refuse. Meridian, the suave, lighthearted General of the Sovereign's army was just an adolescent when the plague that killed his Kindoms female population; including half his family, struck Morwick. Can he, his twin brother, cousin and the other young men who have mastered seduction and romance to an art form even turn the heads of icy, detached ladies who have never even heard of it? If they fail, war will soon follow. In this medieval Hunger Games, What happens when politics meet passion? 100 of Morwick's men must face off against 100 of Rowland's women during "Bedding Camp". Principles on how to write powerful poetic passages, with explanations of how and why these rules work. I'm not saying I write great poetry by any means, but I do take pride in it. I've read on poetry in a few places, but Edgar Allan Poe's "The Poetic Principle" was the best; most of the following tips are based on that work. If you can, however, you should read the original, even though it can be a bit difficult to understand at times. Here, I've distilled the main points in modernized language. Enjoy!
