With one heck of a brain, Ronica 'Roe' Lorenzo gained an internship for Oscorp Industries, thanks to her cousin Gwen Stacy. She and Peter gets bitten by radioactive spiders and give them spider-like powers after trespassing to a secret facility in Oscorp. The two gets close over time and they soon find out the secrets behind their fathers' works which brings them to Dr. Curtis Connors, a co-worker of their fathers in cross-species genetics. After Peter's uncle dies, they form a team and they're now known as Spider-Man and Spider-Girl. Together, they are The Web Slingers.
