I wrote this short story last year. It was my first true story. I hope you enjoy it :D

When Carly learns that her ill father is to be sent into the war against the alien invaders of the earth she panics. knowing that there is nobody else to take his place she pretends to be a boy in order to keep her dad at home. Expecting the help of her best friend James she believes she can succeed but when he denies her she realises she has to do it by herself. Venturing out into the unknown she becomes an underdog and the son of the general becomes intreuged. Will she be able to keep up the act or will it fall apart around her?
