When Frank hears about Gerard's first kiss, he pretends to be happy for him. When Frank walks in on Gerard making out with another boy, he walks away and they don't speak of it. When Frank sees Gerard with his new boyfriend, he cries himself to sleep. When Frank learns that Gerard has been sleeping around, he cracks. When Frank listens to Gerard say he's sorry, he breaks. The first bit of this was written 7-9 years ago. Everything after the chapter titled 'Mikey's ways' is peak, I promise. DISCLAIMER - This is really poorly written, is unrealistic and the characters are shit because I wrote it when I was 14. If you want a decent story read drowning lessons :) After being expelled from every other school in the area, Frank is forced to join the only high school left - Belleville High. He has one last chance to get high school right, stay out of trouble, get good grades and actually graduate, he's off to a great start...until day one. New school, new friends, new plans, new goals. Unlike his parents would like, his goals for the year however are far from getting good grades, unless getting 'the D' counts as a good grade. Art probably wasn't a good subject to pick, especially as Frank is immediatley attracted to his art teacher, a Mr Way. The fact that it's illegal doesn't change anything, Frank's goal was to get into his teachers pants, legal or not. But of course after being unable to hold back it doesn't affect Gerard either, in fact the risk of being caught is half the fun, but is it love or is it just fucking? WARNING - Smut, trigger warning and alcohol abuse.

Gerard is a psychopath. Actually he is more of a smartass sociopath, but really he just doesn't give a shit. Now he's on the run, after breaking bonds with everyone who stood by his side he's running and he is running with only one possession, a locket. But nobody knows what it means, not even Frank. Then again all Frank cares about is Gerard. And the hope that maybe Gerard will love him, one day, although he knows it won't happen. DISCLAIMER: if you are trigger by any of the following, just don't read this, because it is full of detailed: smut, gore, violence, death, strong language. I'm not going to warn every chapter because this book is just a trigger warning in general ngl, the only thing it doesn't have is drugs and alcohol I guess.

Gerard Way is the school's Norman Bates. He's freaky, he acts like he's constantly anticipating something, and he does taxidermy. People fear him, and quite honestly, he gets off on it. There are so many bad rumors circulating about him that even he isn't sure which ones are true. Meanwhile, Frank Iero has a reputation for himself. He's an idiot. A comedic one, especially with his friend James, but an idiot. He once came to school high off his ass and passed his math exam with flying colors. It was a dumb move, but an entertaining one. It's the lake in November, and the move closer to the ocean, and Gerard's fixation, and Gerard's compulsions like tidal waves dragging him down, and Mikey's more distant than ever: like they're drifting out into the middle of the ocean, whereas Gerard's just stuck there: water turning to quicksand around him, drowning. And it's the letter; Frank finds it on the floor of the boys' bathroom on the first floor. It's dropped in accident, perhaps from a pocket or something, and it's drenched in what Frank hopes is tap water, and the words: scrawled in blue ink are difficult to make out as the words join together in a fuzzy inky mess. The only paragraph legible is the final one, and even still, it barely is: 'I've been underwater for a long time now, but I'm not drowning, I'm beginning to think I can breathe like this, but I can't, I'm gasping for breath, and I have to do this, Mikey, I have to end this myself. I'm going to the lake on the 1st of November, don't wait for me... I'm not coming back.' And the name signed at the bottom is little more than a smudged mess of blue ink, and there's nothing Frank can do about it, but he knows for certain that the one thing he can't do is ignore this letter, and he reminds himself of that as he folds it into his pocket. It's a suicide note, Frank's stupid, but not stupid enough to brush over that fact, and whoever this person is, Frank knows that they most certainly don't deserve to die. And Frank isn't going to let them. Because he's going to find this person; he's got time now at least, and he can save them, he will save them - Frank promises himself that. But one person in a whole school, it's like a needle in a haystack, but he's got time, it's November 1st in thirty days, and he can only hope that it will be enough. He's got one month: the date is October 1st.
