Seventeen-year-old Nora isn’t one for celebrations, but her family is. It's Fourth of July and they have been invited to an old friend’s fancy picnic party. Even if she doesn’t want to, Nora agrees to go, hoping to hide behind a tree with a book all night. Just when she realizes her plan is failing, a frantic and handsome boy asks for her help. He needs apple pies and she wants to leave the party. Together, they embark on a journey through the city on a mission that seems just as impossible as trying to buy turkey on Thanksgiving Day. When Elle was just a little girl, her aunt told her about this great trip through Europe she had once gone on. And so, years later, an eighteen-year-old Elle decides to go on the same trip. But hers doesn’t go nearly as smoothly as her aunt’s. And so, completely disappointed and even more heartbroken than before, Elle decides to go back home. But then her plane has to stop in a little town in the middle of nowhere during the biggest snowstorm of the decade. And so the adventures she had been hoping for and the love she hadn't really expected to find are thrust upon her, in the form of trying to find a place to stay in a town flooded with angry tourists, a crazy set of weird characters that offer their help, and an overly sarcastic yet amiable boy that doesn’t seem like anyone Elle has ever met before.

One day, Morgana decides to pick up a pen and write a series of letters addressed to those she loves and hates. In these letters, she reveals her deepest fears and darkest secrets, in these letters she tells of the only boy she's ever loved and in these letters she realises that nothing is ever as it seems, and after these letters, nothing will ever be the same again.
