When Clyde Parker, the wayward son and the rotten-apple of the Parker family-tree, storms his way back into Avery Fields, he sets out a flurry of butterfly effect in Dawn Marshal's life. **** For Clyde Parker, Dawn Marshal isn't just the overachieving wonder-child, she's the girl who pulls him out of the ocean of his blues and declutters the red-alert zone his heart is. She's the girl who saves him, not just from the harrowing ghosts of his past but from himself too. For as long as she can remember, Dawn Marshal has been coasting her way through life keeping trouble at bay. But on a Saturday night in September, it all changes. Trouble walks into her life clad in leather and a devilish smile. Trouble has blue eyes too. And now she doesn't know how to keep trouble at an arm's length when she's neck-deep into it. Perhaps, it would take a lot more than defying gravity to prevent from falling into the enigma Clyde Parker is. Copyright © Nafisa Islam, 2020. All rights reserved.

"You know, it won't physically hurt you to be nice for once." I crossed my arms in front of my chest and groaned. "I don't want to take a chance." the corner of his lips lifted a little as he finished his sentence. "Well, you don't hear me complaining. The view of a someone so desperately working out is not a delight either." I retorted in a weary voice. "I bet it isn't." he narrowed his eyes at me and commented. Ugh.. Why is he so damn annoying? "You know what, just take your arrogant ass out of my room." I scowled at him, pointing towards the door. With small steps, he walked towards me. I took a step backwards when he neared me. He was invading my personal space, making me a bit flustered. The urge to push back his golden-brown hair covering his forehead was increasing with every passing second. "Gladly." he mumbled against my face and then walked past me out of my room. It took me a minute to calm down my racing heartbeat. ... He was a mystery, an enigma I wanted to solve. He was exhausting, he was infuriating, yet staying away from him was not an option. He was making me feel things I haven't felt before. Adam McArdle! Who in their right mind would ask a teenager to write a 4000 word essay on the works of F. Scott Fitzgerald anyway? To me, English class was simply the fine art of over analyzing very old pieces of literature. It was usually pretty easy for me to string together some intricate sounding sentences about these old novels. My English teacher loved me for it, but for this particular essay, I was utterly incapable of replicating the excellence of my previous work. All I knew was that Nick Carraway was definitely gay for Gatsby. _________ When two high school boys find themselves being forced into partnership for a class project, things get interesting. With Callaway's snarky remarks and hidden secrets, and Chance's accidental girlfriend, their path to completing high school is anything but straight. _________ Discaimer: This is boyxboy so if this makes anyone uncomfortable, this is me warning you. Also, The Great Gatsby does not belong to me, copyright is to F Scott Fitzgerald. With the references to the novel in my story, I am in no way trying to mock or make fun of the novel, because it is one of my favourite books. Also, the reality of Nick Carraway's homosexuality is arguable, I simply used this opinion for the sake of my story and its plot.
