Kovu and Kiara are happy with their three cubs. But in a rainstorm at the ravine, Leah sacrifices her life to save both her brother and sister, and falls into the river. Patrols and searches go out to find Kovu's missing cub, but it's called off soon, as no lion can find Leah. Leah soon wakes up in a new home, on the whole other side of the Pride Lands, so far a dangerous and desolate desert cuts between the two lands.
