Anxious and excited for her true ink to get activated once she turns 16, Alexa awaits her upcoming birthday with mixed feelings. Once her true ink is activated the blood vessels on her hand will turn black and form a unique pattern, visible underneath her skin. This exact pattern will show up on only one boy and one girl, soulmates, who will then spend their lives with each other. But when Alexa's tattoo appears after she makes it through the Test that determines every 16 year-olds future life, it doesn't pair up with any boy. Instead it shows up on another girl. Alexa and her soulmate will be in danger of losing everything if the rulers of their country find out about them, because homosexuality and any non-conformity to their society's rules means death in New United America.

*Featured Wattpad Story* ❝As they say, opposites attract.❞ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ ▪ Daniel Mormon is the luckiest person alive. Without even trying, he gets girls, grades, and attention everywhere he goes. Nothing seems to touch him, and it doesn't seem like anything bad is about to happen to him anytime too soon. Harriet Benchman is, to put it nicely, miserable. Her mom and dad despise eachother, she has no friends, and her grades are as good as popcorn and ketchup put together (bad, you didn't get the analogy). The only thing she attracts is rainy days. They both abhor each other. One is perfect, the other is disastrous. So when they are forced to compete in a dance competition together, the only things that will come out of it will be total annihilation (or so they think), and some sweet moves.
