They have completely destroyed civilization as we know it. Edd, Matt, and Tord were lucky enough to escape and find an army base that is completely secured and is ready for any monster attack. Tord soon raises up in the ranks of the base and is now the new leader. He tries to keep balance within this small group of people and hopes to find more survivors so that they may one day get their homes back with the help of his friends. But what happens when Tord comes across a mysterious fellow in the woods? Will he be willing to help fight against the monsters and join the army or will this strangers secret get out to everyone and puts not only him but everyone else at danger? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I suck at descriptions so bare with me and this is my first story so I'm always up for constructive criticism! Tom and Tord are two different men. Tom was a drunken man, Tord remained sober. Those differences can be put aside, however, for some moments.

After losing his father to cancer and never knowing his mother, who died a little bit after he was born, he is forced to move with his father's co-workers...or soldiers. His father was the former Red Leader, which means he is now to be taught to be the next one. He moves to the base and has to go to a normal school to look "innocent". The kids make fun of him, especially a kid named Tom, who he is forced to hang out with, since his only friends are Edd and Matt. He becomes depressed, but never shows it. One faithful day, Tom finds out everything by accident...it changes everything.

Tom hated Tord. The stupid commie was always embarrassing him, taunting him. But after a dream that disturbed Tom more than usual, Edd, not knowing what the dream was about, decides to plan a camping trip to help Tom cheer up and bring the gang closer together. Right. Like Tom wants to go frolick in the fields with the bunnies. Even worse, Tom has to share a room with Tord - what?! Who decided these things, anyway? When Tom tries to avoid his roommate, things prove tricky. Awkward situations, messed up bathrooms, not-so-pretty wildlife. Ah, the outdoors! They should call it the great doors, because that's all Tom plans on seeing. The door to his room - locked.
