Anne Hathelbrush has always been an odd person. Firstly, she can control things that regular people aren't able to do. So what if a dog appeared out of nowhere and attacked the playground bully when she was a child! Secondly, bad things happen when she's around. As in weird things. Things that should've never been possible. Like a train stops dead in it's tracks and all the people on it suddenly fall asleep. She doesn't ask for strange things to happen. They just do. Then, when she's 12 years old, a strange thing, that is just so horrible it blows away all other strange things away, happens to Annie. Her mom, the person who raised her alone since childhood, gets really sick. There is no treatment known to Annie's world that can save her. In "Daughter of Darkness" the main character, Annie, goes on a grand journey to discover who her father was, discover the ruins of an ancient culture, and get sucked into the past. Can she make it back to her time, find her dad, and find a cure for her mom's sickness all in one story?

Sixteen year old Derek, heir to the throne, has Valerio, a dragon, as his best friend. Now, he has to find a wife, while he fights a war with his father, cousin, and uncle.
